  1. Kyoto, Japan

Japan is one of the first names on the lips of many when it comes to Asia, and rightly so. It is known to be the perfect blend of modernity and history, and a perfect representation of Japanese culture is seen in Kyoto. Kyoto, the former capital of Japan up until imperial times, is a constant reminder of the rich history of Japan and the abundance of monuments. During the summer, Kyoto is bright, green, and beautiful, and it can usually get a bit hot. This all adds to the allure of this amazing place. 

What to do in Kyoto during the summer?

  • You definitely need to try some Kagigori! Italy has Gelato, Nigeria has Zobo, and the Japanese have Kagigori, which is basically shaved ice and is a popular fixture all summer long. 
  • Go North! What are you going to see when you go north of Kyoto? Kibune. A small yet beautiful town in the mountains that’s the perfect escape from the bustling main town of Kyoto.Another draw for tourists is the Kifune Shrine. With its stone steps lined with red lantern poles in the middle of the forest, this site is a perfect postcard spot.

The Great Wall of China and the famous sites of Beijing are some of the most popular tourist sites in all of Asia, but what if we told you that spending an entire summer in China could prove to be a memorable experience because of the abundance of unique and beautiful sites that are not as popular? Summer is usually the most popular time to visit China, with airfares and accommodation at their priciest, but booking a trip beforehand would be our advice to anyone planning a trip there. China is known for a lot of things, one of which is the abundance of beautiful sites of nature and architectural masterpieces. It caters to the needs of every traveller, and that is what makes it one of the next destinations to visit in the world.

Warm weather, little to no rainfall, and lots of outdoor scenery are what you get when you take a trip to Singapore this summer. Although known to be a hot tourist spot all year, June–December is usually the busiest time for people visiting Singapore. Famous for its clean streets, its focus on nature, and being one of the greenest cities in the world, the dynamic city is all about its unique culture and rich history. With warmer temperatures, longer days, and an array of outdoor activities, visiting South Korea in the summer is usually a time for lots of sightseeing and discovery. One of the most popular destinations in Asia, South Korea is home to some of the most exciting and diverse cities. From Seoul to Busan and Jeju Island, you can never run out of things to do here. With the rise of Korean pop and Korean drama, which have amassed a large following in recent years, planning a trip to South Korea to be a part of their warm and rich culture sounds like the perfect getaway plan.

  • Busan, Korea’s second-largest city, is home to a number of activities during the summer. Popular for its seven public beaches, with Haeundae Beach being the most renowned, this should be high on your list of places to visit. 
  • Jeju Island: renowned for its natural beauty, including beaches, gardens, and waterfalls. 
  • Seoraksan National Park: a UNESCO world heritage centre with amazing views.

During the summer, the sites in Vietnam are like something out of a movie. Thanks to the pristine beaches, colourful valleys, fresh and cold cuisine that is some of the best in the world (see our article on the best food havens around the world here), flavorful tropical fruits, and more, Vietnam is indeed charming and a beauty to behold. Unlike some other places that are extremely hot throughout the summer, Vietnam has a warmer temperature for most parts, and its hundreds of beaches, considered to be among the most beautiful in the world, serve as the perfect hangout spot for relaxation and soaking up a calming view.
